Blonde 1: Kim Novak in Vertigo
During a West Coast tour my husband and I tried to stop at as many Hitchcock locations as possible. On the way to LA we visited the mission of San Juan Bautista, some miles off the highway and in a town with a population of 10. This is the site of Novak’s fatal fall.
I got so excited seeing the stables in the distance that I locked the keys in the car and we were stuck there for hours waiting for AAA. A park ranger at the mission museum was our only company. She said with a hand clap, “Well, let’s turn this situation to something positive and learn about California history.”
The Blondes is my favorite book that I haven’t read yet.
